The most popular way to Shakti is in bed, before sleep. Using the Pillow as an extension of your Shakti Mat lets you target your neck and get even more relaxation from your downtime.
When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.
Its shape is also perfect for releasing tension in hard-to-reach curves, and you can rest your face against the spikes for a subtle sensation.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

As someone completely new to acupressure, I originally ordered the Level 2 mat and pillow based on the questionnaire. I was surprised by how quickly I took to the sensation, the perfect mix of pleasure and pain, and I actually drifted off almost instantly. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I slept that deeply.
Because I adjusted so well, I decided to exchange for the Level 3 set, and Shakti’s customer service made the whole process effortless. They were friendly, efficient, and incredibly communicative throughout. It honestly couldn’t have been easier.
The Level 3 Premier Mat and Pillow are beautifully made, with noticeably high‑quality materials and sharp, precise spikes that feel both intense and satisfying. The Torus Rings are also outstanding - the included carry bag is such a clever touch, making it easy to take them anywhere.
